Sunrise, Sunset.

Oh, it's still January, is it?
Hmm, I need to find another title of a Bright Eyes song...
Okay: Sunrise, Sunset .

Well, I've obviously been busy. There was finals week, which I'm glad to say was a breeze. Honestly, though, I haven't been studying, but I made it through with a 4.0. So far, because grades didn't come yet. My fingers are crossed!

Something that I must bring up. It was confirmed, but I'd like to mention that Brendon Urie's little character in "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" was an image of Alex from A Clockwork Orange.

Malcolm McDowell, or "Alex" in A Clockwork Orange, the movie.
Brendon Urie, in "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" music video.

Anyways, I'm, again, procrastinating right now. I should be reading Letters From The Birmingham Jail, which were written by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but that thing is LONG. It's for the Socratic Seminar for tomorrow, but alas, I'm not as diligent as I thought I was. Oh, well. Everyone isn't perfect. OH! I'm getting my braces off on 09 February. I'm really excited. It's 2 days after Jacquelyn's birthday, WHOO-HOO. I've always loathed having braces, but I've loved the fact that the outcome would suffice.

I was watching Garden State earlier, and I just love Zach Braff. He seemed so serious, compared to his character of J.D. in Scrubs. It made me sad, but there was this one scene were he had that humour in him when he said, "Pun intended?". (In the story, Andrew (Zach Braff) has a stoner friends named Mark. Mark's mom is sleeping with one of his old classmates, who works at a local fast food joint called Medival Times. And when they were talking one day and Andrew defends Sam (Natalie Portman) because Mark made a rude remark. Sam replies to Andrew's defense, "He likes me. He's my knight and shining armour," Andrew says, "Don't mention anything about knights; it's a sore subject for Mark," Mark remarks, "I'm going to kill that motherfucker." Andrew then says, "Pun intended?" . It's not word-for-word, but whatever, you get it.) I just LOVE Zach Braff. He can play a depressed, messed-up person who's life isn't exactly normal, but then he can play a witty, playful doctor who graduall learns new things about life, but in comedic ways. He's a man of many faces, BEAUTIFUL faces, but he's just Zach Braff. As for Natalie Portman, I applaud her for everything she has accomplished. She's Queen Amidala, she's the epileptic Sam, she's Anne Boleyn and she's many other things. She went to Harvard University, and got a degree in psychology (something that interests me A LOT), and she was born in Israel. Aside from all those, she's an advocate for animal rights. SHE IS MY IDOL.

It's getting a little late, so I'll turn in and read what I was supposed to read. See? I can be diligent.

Stay in school.
Cheers xoxo.

Easy, Lucky, Free.

I find the image to the left really funny. I'm sorry, but I look at it, and I just laugh. Okay, okay, let's be serious, though. Sometimes, I watch the The Filipino Channel (TFC, wow, shcoker.) with my mom and it's just like American television. Everything's a competition and entertainment. I hate watching people get embarrassed on television. It's like, they got more that they bargained for. If they choose to embarass themselves on national television, then so be it. But one day, they'll get older and realize that it's stupid. Then, their kids are are going to see it. Oh, it's just going to be a big mess. Filipinos also like drama, too. Overexaggerated drama. It's amazing how we come up with this story line. Every drama I watched with my mom, someone has to get hit by a car. Do people frequently get hit by cars in the Philippines? Seriously, it's amazing. There also always have to be girl fights and hair-pulling. And people who fall in love, but are torn apart by a force, then they reunite. ALWAYS. In every single Filipino drama that I have watched with my mom, that has happened. If not, then it's a game show or the news. There's a segment in their news that throws me way off. It's a segment dedicated to the actors; who's dating who, who broke up with who. It's madness.

OMFGZZ, FINALS. I need to study for that. Like, SUPERSTUDY. I want to overachieve this year and stop slacking off. But I can't. I'm get older. It's impossible. I like how I just wrote random things about me in a MySpace blog for an hour and a half. Aside finals, I have to memorise my lines for Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN). I'm going to play the mother, which gives me a wonderful chance to get my pointless imitations of my mother into action!

This blog will be awfully short, on account of dinner, then studying. *ahem, SUPERSTUDYING. I just wanted to point out the things I love about Filipinos, haha.

Cheers xoxo .

Bowl of Oranges.

So, one of the first things I did to celebrate a new year was watching The Office. It was the American version, which is still as hilarious as the UK version. Steve Carrell is quite funny, but I'd pick Ricky Gervais over him any day. I like how awkward things tend to be when there are little office brawls with one another. It's like a soap opera, except better; none of that stupid Degrassi shit that people watch nowadays. It's all about mockumentaries. Well, in some cases. There was this one movie I watched with Matt called Surf's Up, which wasn't really funny, but I'd rank it as "cute". Shia LeBeouf was in it, and so was Zooey Deschanel, but I didn't think it was as good as Walking With The Penguins or whatever it's called. You know, the one that Morgan Freeman narrated. Anyways, Surf's Up was a supposed mockumentary-like movie, but I just didn't see how it was anything like one. It was completely random. But I suppose that the comedy was correct, meaning that it was actually funny.

The first movie I watched in theatres for the year was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I really enjoyed it, but the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald wasn't followed. It's okay because the outcome was brilliant. Kudos to David Fincher and Eric Roth (director and writer, which is weird that I didn't wikipedia that this time; straight from memory from the credits!). And kudos to Brad Pitt for doing such a terrific job for looking attractive and of course, the acting. Oh, and Cate Blanchett for making me want to slap her character. Nice work. The movie got me worried, though. About certain aged people in my life, that I love and care about. Some of them are aging and their limbs are starting to make them clumsy and spill food on their clothes and that makes me really sad. It's like, the older you get, the quicker you age. That freaks me out. I'm still pretty young and I'm not aging as fast my beloved elders. I'm going to graduate high school in a few years; like, in 3 years. My parents are around in their, what, 50's right now? It's scary. Then, there's this thing about this clock that goes backwards. I believe that the clock might be real and that I could bear a child that looks like a baby, but looks like he's 70 when he turns 4, or something. I think a clock like that is amazing, though. I like the concept of it, and the way that its creator explains why he made it that way. It's very intriguing. I think I might go and buy that short story and compare it to the movie. It might be the only way I could understand more. Maybe not. I might just be too young to even be thinking about things like this.

School is in a few hours, after an interlude of slumber, which I should probably get to going.
In about another hour or so, it will be the end of winter vacation and back to school, which totally sucks because I don't want to go back. Even though this vacation wasn't as thrilling, I still enjoyed every inch and second of it. But, it is how it is.

Have a lovely evening.
Cheers xoxo .
